It's often easier to work with one patent holder such as On2 than it is to work with a a patent pooling conglomeration such as Mpeg LA. Also the video Ipod will be able to to support other video formats with firmware upgrades.

Hi Ismael:

Interesting post.

Why aren't you considering two wheeled transportation. Internal conbustion, electric or even human powered. The nice thing about the San Fernando valley is that it is relatively flat. Sun Valley to the North Hollywood end of the Red Line would be, say, 40 minutes, on a bicycle? Probably much faster than the bus. When I was commuting from Silverlake to USC on my bike, I always beat the bus, plus there was that wonderful sense of moral superiority every morning as I parked my bicycle.

;-)

There are the more unusual alternatives, like the Corbin Sparrow. Somewhat small and unusually styled, I know. I don't know if there are any passive or active restraint systems installed other than the standard shoulder/lap belt combo.

If you're considering the Civic, I assume that you're looking at the Civic Hybrid, a much better, more usable vehicle than the Prius.

How about looking at the offerings from Zap (http://zapworld.com/). Of course, with them, you'd be on the cutting edge, with all of the strum and drang that entails. But hey, that's the price of leading the way.
